Visitors to the SynagogueScribes website (www.SynagogueScribes.com) will be aware that the bulk of our records relate to the Jewish Communities of London, so we are especially pleased to announce the inclusion of some new material for the Jewish communities of South East England. We have today uploaded some Birth, Marriage and Death records (respectively SEJB, SEJM and SEJD) for the towns of Dover, Deal, Canterbury and Ramsgate for the period 1830 to circa 1850. In addition to these, we have also uploaded data (ref DEL) abstracted from a survey of the Old Burial Ground Canterbury made in 1973 by Dr, Nicholas De Lange and Julia Schwab (Neuberger). . The best way to view these records is to go to www.synagoguescribes.com : advanced search: synagogue; and enter the appropriate reference for the particular set of records (SEJB\SEJM\SEJD\DEL) In addition to these new records, researchers might find it useful to look at the Circumcision Records which cover much of the same area. In Advanced Search, select event = circumcision. Synagogue = BSJM, or event = Circumcision Synagogue = BSAOD.
